Priority #1 – Upskilling students while preparing them for their life journeys

  • Understand and do the job by governing the Dekalb County School System assets, eliminate waste, and ensure all resources are focused on student upskilling and preparation for life journeys.

  • Hold administrators, teachers and vendors accountable for results, not just expenses.

Priority #2 – Bringing parents to the table

  • Restore parental rights in curriculum decisions – no surprises, no secrets.

  • Fight for the parents and students!

  • ·Hold open tours for classrooms throughout the year.

  • Create a Parent Advisory Council (with representation from each school).

  • Protect the right for parents to opt out – they know their children best and have acknowledged, invested interest in their life journeys beyond the educational experience.

Priority #3 – Transparency: Ddllars mean visibility for all stakeholder/investors

  • Transparency in school budgets and spending decisions including posting documents in a timely manner.

  • Conduct regular, independent audits of district funds and contracts.

  • Require School Board meetings to be live streamed, recorded with transcripts and archived for retrieval later. All School Board decisions must be backed up with a voting record in the transcript.

“ Every Student Matters. Every Dollar Counts..”

My Mission

I'm Ruth D. Goldstein — a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant℠, mother, grandmother, and proud DeKalb County business owner. I'm running for the DeKalb County School Board, District 2.

As a fellow stakeholder in our school system, I bring something rare to this role: a professional lifetime built on fiduciary responsibility. My clients have always demanded — and received — full transparency, rigorous accountability, and sound judgment on every recommendation and decision made on their behalf. I intend to bring that same standard to every DeKalb County taxpayer, parent, and student.

The School Board's most important job is to be a mindful steward of the resources entrusted to us. Responsible oversight of our budget, facilities, and assets creates the conditions our superintendent, administrators, teachers, and staff need to do their very best work. When those pieces align, students thrive.

I am committed to ensuring that students thrive, parents are heard, and tax dollars are managed with the care and transparency they deserve.

I look forward to earning your support.
